Stolen Words

Stolen words is a heartwarming story illustrated by Gabrielle Grimard and the author of this beautiful book was Melanie Florence. This book started with a little indigenous girl coming back and skipping while holding a dreamcatcher. Then the little girl came back to her grandpa and then asked how to say a word in their indigenous language, Cree. He had to sadly decline and say I don’t know how. The next day she came home to her grandpa holding a book and said my grandchild in Cree. Her grandpa was choking up and said thank you, after that they said lots of words in Cree. This story was so good i really liked it and the book made me choke up a bit. Overall i would give it a 8/10 because how good it was.

Hey, Little Ant

“Hey, Little Ant” is a good book, the book was illustrated by Debbie Tiley and was created by Phillip and Hannah Hoose. This book is overall meant for children 9 and under and rhymed very well to catch the attention of little children. This book is amazing for young learners and less engaging for older more mature viewers of the book. For my overall rating i would give this book and above average rating a 3 stars out of   five. My explanation of how this book got a 3 star rating is the story.

The book starts of with the boy who is one of the 2 main characters talking in rhymes to a Little Ant. After lots of rhymes and some good points about why he shouldn’t step on the ant and some more good points why he should step on the ant, the book stops at a picture of him close to squashing the ant but not near enough to squash.
