“Bats big game” Connection

“Bats Big Game” is a story authored by Margaret Read MacDonald and illustrated by Eugenia Nobati for 6-12 year olds. This book is about animals playing a form of soccer. Then the birds started chanting for their team to win and the other animals did the same. Little later a bat came in and wanted to play and then he said: “Look at those Animals strong and Fast.” Then he thought to himself that he wanted to play on the winning. He learns a lesson after the game to stay with your own team for the entire game. There are some connections I had with this book. One connection I had to this book was a book to self-connection, the connect is that I am a sort of competitive person and sometimes I feel like the bat because I just want to win the game. Another connection I had with this book was the wanting to switch every time you got scored on by the winning team. When I was young and actually into sports I was a salty loser so I would either make a fuss or try and change the teams to my advantage. Another connection I had with this book was that I know a couple of people who every time they get out in four square they make the biggest fuss in the whole world, by the time they’re done they could have been in already. The overall moral of this story is that don’t be a sore loser and also stick with your team. (And never give up)

“Wanted The Perfect Pet”

“Wanted The Perfect Pet” is a story about a boy named Henry who really wanted a dog. It is about a boy who is trying his hardest to get a dog no matter how weird the idea was. Then a duck had an idea to dress up like a dog and waddle his way to Henry’s house and become his perfect pet. But he wasn’t the dog he really wanted and Henry final caught and since they had so many good times with each other Henry walked to the ad poster and changed it to the perfect duck. I had a connection to this book was that I really wanted a pet dog but I found out I really liked these little parakeets so my mom got them a couple months ago. Another connection I had to this book was getting attached to the birds so I volunteered to take responsibility and did so for a month then (I told my mom I can’t anymore so she is now feeding them). Another connection I had to this book was with this really nice duck we found near the shore. It acted like it was a land animal, it went up to people and didn’t quack at them “he” just stood there and just waited for food. Overall this story is an easy contestant for a 7.5/10, but I would recommend this book 6-13-year-olds.

“the boy who harnessed the wind”

“the boy who harnessed the wind” is a heartwarming story about a boy from Malawi who harnessed the electric wind. William Kamkwamba is a boy who at the age of 14 made a DIY windmill to power his family’s farm so they can grow more. When I read this story it was in picture book form and glossed over many important things like how he got it running and how he got the parts. I personally had a connection to this book because I also went to a library and found out a lot of cool stuff. Something that I connected to was the learning to build items to help out my family, I learned that our old tv could work if we replaced a part, unfortunately, we already had a tv so we never replaced that part. Another connection I had with this book is that I helped my mom fixing her phone by reading the instructions and then just hard resetting her phone. Overall this book needs a little more detail but is a solid 7/10 otherwise. I would recommend this book to 10-13-year-olds to show them the importance of knowledge.

“After the Fall (How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again)”

“After the Fall (How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again)” is a book that is authored and illustrated by Dan Santat. “After the fall” is a great book about how humpty dumpty broke his fear of heights and hatched into a bird. This book might sound chaotic but it is quite this opposite. It is a heartfelt story of a traumatized egg over powering his new found fear of heights and hatching into something new. In this story I had a couple of connections and one of the connections was to myself. I had been scared of going to my relatives because my parents say that they might do harm to me or my brothers so a never wanted to go to them. But now I know who I should be careful with and who I stay with. To this day I keep in touch with my cousin with is in his late 20’s and I have had funny interactions with him just over text. Another connection I had with the book was with the internet, reddit to be exact. Reddit is a social media platform that is about people telling stories and sharing funny or sad interactions with other people. It has a whole genre of people overcoming their fears. (subreddits) Another connection I had with the book was when I had a small fear of staring into the sky for to long. It felt that I was going up and up and I kinda had existential crisis that I really couldn’t do much to help or advance the population knowledge so I felt small. Overall I would give this book to a 7-12 year old. I would personally rate this book a solid 9/10 would read again.

“The Noisy Paint Box: The Colours and Sounds of Kandinsky’s abstract art”

“The Noisy Paint Box: The Colours and Sounds of Kandinsky’s abstract art” is a book authored by Barb Rosenstock and illustrated by Mary Grandpre. This book “The Noisy Paint Box” is a children’s book about Kandinsky story of how he got into creating abstract books. I think this book is a book about following your dreams and being successful because of it. A had a couple connections to this and one of them were about the working to meet ‘normality and never trying something new.’ This really hits the spot in most people’s lives including myself. Another connection I had in this book was the not understanding parents. If you have understanding parents consider yourself lucky. The last connection I had with this book was that nobody really cares except yourself, you have only yourself to help you out. This book, in my opinion is for 8-14 year of age. It is a older type of book, this is a deeper type of book. I would rate this book a solid 8/10.

“There”

“There” is a book authored and and illustrated by Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick. There is a kids book about a kids imagination about what to expect about “there.” This book is a book of metaphors, these metaphors help the reader get a deeper connection to the book. This book gets more creative the more you read and I think that is great. I had a couple connections to this book and they made me enjoy the book just a little more. One of the connections I had were how long until there, this was because of me being annoying and always saying that in the car. Another connection I had with the book is who is going there. I connected to this because of my XL family, it was when I got to go to a welcoming party and more than 40 people came to greet us. (I have a family bigger than 100 people) I would recommend this book  to all ages but to be more specific I would say 7-14 years of age. I would give this book a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.

“Wangari’s Trees of Peace”

“Wangari’s Trees of Peace” is illustrated and Authored by Jeanette Winter. This book is a book about changing history and making the world a better place. This shows when Wangari and her partners plant trees after the male people said they couldn’t because women are weak. This book shows that power is not just physical but also mental. (Will) I think this story should be shown to a very young age by that I mean 7-14 year olds. I made a personal connection when she came back to here home and saw much undesired change because my parents are from Iraq and right now it is in a very tough change for the worst. I recently show most greenery dead or cut down. This is horrible because most people smoke so it was horrible when I saw the air extremely polluted. I also made another connection when I was laughed at for doing something good. So this story is still about Iraq when I visited and was picking some berries (some at my house) and my cousin say only women do that so I went back in side and came back and continued. My opinion of this book is really good because of what I have experience in third world countries and lack and trees.

In the afternoon of a Saturday (forgot witch one) I  had a little change on me and there was a homeless man sitting outside with a sign so a gave him my change. This was in North Vancouver, I think that homeless man was quite happy just if any change was given to him but sadly no one gave him change in the few minutes we were there near this homeless man. Its hard to describe because of my bad memory but I think he might of went to the close 7-11 to get a bit of food. This last sentence might be incorrect but I think that he did buy something from 7-11. I think . I think I did something nice today I hope you do something nice to.

I was playing on a Minecraft Hypixel sever when I saw a old player who hasn’t log on in a couple years say were is his items. People were telling him false information to make him lose all his hard worked items. So I asked a moderator to mute them and tell him his items are in the ender chest. This one is what I do usually but I just wanted to blog this specific one because I was once that player who hasn’t played for a 1 year or 2 and had trouble doing anything with the false info the people tell you.

So near the star of February I done something I would consider nice. Im a bit hazy on the details so some of it might not be so accurate. I was playing a game (can’t remember) and here on the voice chat someone who was “being cyberbullied”  by getting picked on by a higher lvl player. I checked it out and he was a lvl 7 and they were lvl 28. Since I have no live I was lvl 70~ and could  easily beat them so I did. I took on that new player as like my student now he’s lv 30~. I think I did something nice today I hope you think so to.
